Black Creek Crossing is pleased to announce the newest member of our staff.
Gladys Geeslin comes to us after many years of faithful service at the ranch of
Liz and Joe Geeslin. Gladys received her honorary doctorate in 1992 and is credited with the development of the widely used "pull and release" method which has become a standard in the industry. After lengthy negotiations with her personal attorney, Joe Geeslin, her salary (1 apple and two carrots per work session and all the hay she wants) and work conditions (complete R & R between the months of November through April - there was mention of her going to Hawaii during those months), we were able to secure her permanent employment. She has won the hearts of most of the weanlings in the barn and our other staff member, Cindy...although, a few of the weanlings call her "Gladass the Badass" behind her back! Her foghorn bray each morning has become the universal call to all equines that it's time to eat. We welcome Gladys and look forward to many years of service - although I'm already hearing grumblings of a raise from her - I knew I should have gotten her terms in writing. |
